| ESC Questions
hi, i am new to the hobby & i have some questions concerning ESC's in general. i know from reading the term thread that they deal with the radio, but a question i have is if someone is wanting to buy a ESC for a project they have how does someone: 1) determine what type or kind of ESC to get? 2) what "need to know" information to pick one out 3) what "equipment" is affected by the ESC and or what "equipment" affects the ESC? thanks!! rc dreemer |

It would probably be easier if you tell us the project, and then learn from the recommendations. Type of ESC is determined by the motor type and size.

john, thanks! you kinda answered my question. so to know if a ESC would "work" for me i need to know what you indicated. example would be a AXIAL ax10 with a AXIAL 27t motor. obviously i know a axial ESC would work, but what about a mamba max or a castle creations which ESC "model" would i be able to know could work? i can't give you my example because i do not have a crawler. but i am looking on here (for sale section) & ebay to hopefully be able to piece one together.... hence my question. thanks for your time! rc dreemer |

Just about any 1/10th scale ESC will work. Mamba max, sidewinder, FXR, TorqueMaster, etc..

There may also be a limit on "speed" of the motor supported. If you see, "Max is a 13T brushed motor" it means you can run ANY brushed motor that is from 13T (aka turn) and up (13T, 14T,.....65T, etc) You would NOT run a 10T motor on that ESC. So yes, there is a little "matching" to be done. | |
