Cool New to this

Hi, guys, I'm new to R/C rock crawling, but not the hobby in general. I'm thinking about getting back in after a couple of years off, and the Axial SC10 Trail Honcho kit is something I want to build.

Here's my wishlist I built at the TCSCrawlers.com store.

https://www.tcscrawlers.com/cart.php...88a27c2c64f0ef

I'm not sure about the motor I picked, any suggestions would be nice. I want brushless suggestions, if possible.

I also want to add these.

If someone can tell me how many 4-link plates I need for a full replacement, that would be great.
The radio I want is a Spektrum DX3R, because I'm also thinking about getting a professional on-road touring car kit, and I want to be prepared with a high-end DSM radio. And finally, I want to add the Pro-Line '73 Bronco hardtop body.

So, is this a good rig to have? Any suggestions and additions would be welcome!

You didn't really specify if you wanted a competition rock crawler, or a trail scale truck.

What you have picked out will make a good scale trail truck, but not a comp crawler.

I want a trail-scale truck. If I wanted a comp crawler, I'd get the AX10 Scorpion, no?

If your wanting a scaler the one you picked is great , not sure about all the other stuff you want with it but if your wanting something more hardcore and wanting to do some comps with it then start with this if you want to go with axial https://www.tcscrawlers.com/On-Sale-...7-p-18220.html If your not brand loyal then you can check out the bullies and the bergs and you can read through a ton of threads on how people have built them and the upgrades and chassis they use, if you go berg or bully just buy the axles and build it from scratch.

Then what you picked out will do just fine.
For a comp crawler, I'd look at the XR10 vs the AX10.
Both have major aftermarket support.

They're working for me, what's the problem?

I may just get the RTR Trail Honcho model and upgrade as my funds allow me to. The ESC in the RTR model appears to be Lipo-compatible, so that's good. I can just upgrade the motor and keep the ESC when the time is right.

Do I need only one of these or do I need two?

Thanks for the replies, guys. Anyways, Bender Customs 4-link plates, I only need one, right? Same with the driveshaft ring upgrade?

How about a Traxxas Velineon brushless motor/VXL-3S ESC combo? Any good? Or is it not right?
