hey guys.newbie Question...i read somewhere that you need a lipo battery to run the 7050 or 7980 hitec servos,is this true?im running a 3000nimh battery.also-would the hitec 7950 be good to use on a 1/8 scale with super bully axles with plastic rims but might run alluminum later on,dont know yet?thanx for the replys and future help.

You'll be fine with the battery you have, you just need a BEC thats set to whatever voltage you want. The 7950 and 7980 can take 7.4v and both are fine in a super. Just remember that the 7980 has a 10% larger case. As for BECs I would recomend the castle brand.

hey,thanx man,appreciate it.me and my boy are new to rcc so were learning as we go along...thank god for this site,lol..we trying to learn whats good whats not so good and what to stay away from.is there any soldering these electronics when they come in or do they just plug into whatever you have?were waiting on the bully axles and we wanted to get holmeshobbies motors but hes outta stock so someone mentioned novaks for now?thanx for all your help. eddie
