Default front motor louder in forward than reverse

Just a couple of Novak 55's in my XR10.Recently added the VP motor plates to the VP tranny cases that i had bought a few weeks back.Front motor is alot noisier when in forward gear compared to reverse.Reverse in whisper quiet in comparison.Speed in forward is faster than reverse which leads me to beleive that it isnt a timming issue..But i dont know enough about timing to even know if that has anything to do with this..

Wheels are not rubbing or anything like that as i tried with front wheels removed to count out any wheel or tire rubb..Any ideas as to why it does that?..It's definetly a gear noise. Not grinding or crunching but definetly alot louder than when in reverse..Gears are nicely meshed and well greased.

Seems to me i read something regarding this very thing awhile back but i cant for the life of me find it anywhere after searching.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why it does is..Thanks

Was it OK before you did the motor mounts or was it noisy before?
If only after, I would pull the plate off & check for wear marks and then reset the gear mesh.

if you go real slow can you still hear the noise in fwd or just high rpm's

Is the noise like a tyPe of rattleing, clicking?

Its actually more noticable going real slow..Once again reverse is whisper quiet (the way i would like forward to be)

Its not a rattle or a click..Just a noticably louder sound compared to reverse

hmm.well process of illimination I guess

If it was me I think I would pull the motor out and see if it makes the same noise with no load.

or possible swap motors front to back and see if the noise follows or stays up front.

The noise is just on the front motor in forward..Rear motor is whisper quiet in both forward and reverse

It doesnt sound like there is anything wrong with any of the gears in the tranny..I'll be double checking shortly regardless
I will also re-set mesh and see if that makes a difference..

There is no crunching, clicking or rattling sounds. It's just an audible gear train sound that is alot more amplified than when in reverse..Thats the best way i can describe it..I just read something about the quiet mode option on the HH esc's..I'll give that a go as well witrh my Caslle link
