You will find that is like asking if a chevy is better than a ford. Opinions vary. I had Bully "axles", but sold them and bought "Berg". For bashing bully axles are great. For competing, bergs are better IMO. You have to make a lot of decision before getting in to link length. Start with axles, chassis, electronics (esc, dig, bec, motors, etc) and then start to think about links and so forth. Buy a star, surf the classifieds and find yourself a nice used berg. Takes a lot of the guess work out and gives you a good starting point. You will figure out pretty quickly what works and what doesn't. |

I have owned and competed with both. My bully has seen a LOT of abuse and never broke a SINGLE part....stock. They are heavy and take a bit of work with the dremmel to get the most out of the steering, but other than that, they are a great set of axles. There are quite a few guys down here that run Bullys and they perform well. I have been driving my berg lately and it drives nicely, I'd say better than the bully.....but it needed a TON of upgrade parts to get it comp ready. Hell, I broke a stock axle within 1 minute of this trucks first run.... So, it all comes down to personal preference. Do you want a set of axles that are fairly inexpensive, can take a LOT of abuse in stock form and perform decently? Then go with the Bullys. Do you want a set of axles that are rather costly and require a lot of upgrades but are lighter and perform flawlessly (after the upgrades)? Then go with the Bergs. Just because you don't see lot of folks driving the Bullys doesn't mean that they are inferior.... |

Bergs out of the box are not the most durable axles on the planet what most people do its replace the third gear and replaces the shafts with super 300's and then they are more durable at a comp with someone running a stock berg they broke 2 shafts on 2 cources (1 on each) and they wer not in a bind Bullys on the other hand are all most indestructable and they really only needs some lightening the bullys are a lot heavyer then the bergs if you want a set of axles that are cheap (Bullys) if you want a set that performs better then but need upgrades (Berg) Last edited by asw27x; 03-02-2011 at 07:58 AM. |
