Default ~Looking For A Wheelbase JIG~

Looking for a wheelbase jig to help setup my 2.2 crawler and make measuring my links easier. I've done some searching and only found this:

*****CDW Wheelbase Jig GIVEAWAY*****

Looking at the post history, it doesn't seem like this dude sells them anymore. Anyone have a better idea or where I can get me something simular? TIA!!!

just make your own, I know it's not as sophisticated than whats out there, but it works.

it's made out of 1/4 steel, it has 5 1/2, 8 1/2, 10, 11 1/2 and 12 1/2 settings

Thats an idea... My bro-in-law made his out of a aluminum yard stick.

Looks like you need to head to the market and fix yourself up with a ketchup refill.

Close, I would buy some 1" x 1" x 1/8" x 3' aluminum angle. A decent hardware store should have it as well as Home Depot/Lowes/etc.
Cut 2 lengths 18" long (sooo.....cut a 3' length in 1/2), clamp them side by side, mark the wheelbase you need, drill some holes and you be done.
Crack open a beer/soda (pop for the midwest peeps) and admire your handywork.

Since it's an angle material, it won't flex as you work with it, it also allows you to clamp it to a table if need be.

Not a bad idear there Charlie! I'm wondering if I just made a long continuos opening for both the front and rear axle hubs to sit in. This way I can make it more adjustable rather then set wheel base points.

Not sure if that makes sense...

Oh and I might be in Utah, but I don't mind me a beer or 2 or 3 ok maybe just 4.

If you are making it, you can make it any way you like right?

Reason you would drill single holes at certain distances would be for making specific wheelbases. If you made a slot, you could mark it off, but you could run the risk of bumping one side or the other and getting things miss-measured.
