Default quesion about running 1 bat.

I have a tekin rebel speed controller that i run in a emaxx. the emaxx has the stock motors and i was wondering if i can use only one bat. I read the post about switching to one bat and it said u cant do it with a maxx with 2 motors but i was wondering if that was just on thAT SPEED CONTROLLER. if so what do need to to to be able to run only 1 bat

The rebel is only designed for one battery pack.
4-10 cells for a stock motor and 4-8 cells for a mod motor.
The only safe way to run 2 packs would be in parallel, to double the run time.
