Default swamp kong opinons

imex redrocks or 8.5inch swamp kongs on my nylint with wheel adapters. ive heard that the swamp kongs are like bricks and i was wondering if they are stiff. i dont really care about weight. i mean people r puttint led weights and bbs in there tires why not just run a heavier tire thats huge i could get like 4 inches of ground clearance.

Red rocks......swamp kongs are so big and weird lookin you dont need tires that big for crawling maybe for crossing rivers or mud pits. besides red rock and ment for crawlin so the rubber is soft. at least the rubber was soft on my when i got them

The nylint will never turn Kongs.

It has a hard enough time turning it's skinny tires.

If your going to be spending $100+ for a set of tires why not buy a real rc. A nylint will never turn a kong, hell most hi end axles can barly tame them.

Imo the regular kongs are better than the swamps, of course you have to narrow them tho. The red rocks are a good tire, but i dont think the nylint can even handle those. Maybe look into a clod size tire, maybe a narrowed giant trac?, or a small maxx size tire.

i figured out how to make them work with the 12mm hub with a couple swipes of electrical tape put on the wheel adapter with a dimple notch on opposite sides then drill hole through the adapter, tape, and hub straight on through and then put a pin through that hole which will keep it all together

OH Contrare monfrare I had to find out and yes it works. It has trouble steering but in low it will turn them with no problem. I am locked in low anyway. It has 3/4" more ground clearance as you can see

http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...1/IMG_0186.jpg
can turn on the rocks and has no problems climbing the stuff a Clod or a TLT can climb and I am going to extend the wheel base out to 17" center to center.

Well Raptorman57 you big stud you. I am sorry I don't have a "real rig" like yours with the nylint tires and all. I Just know that I have out wheeled a TLT and a clod but hey thats not much right?. Ya know I am building a clod right now and if everything goes right it will have XL moabs and a 16" wheelbase. So pretty soon I will know the truth of the matter right.

I think that's what they meant by it will have trouble "turning" them - they were talking about turning them left and right, not around.

You are right Mad Scientist I realize that now. But ya know they do steer a litttle on the rocks just not good enough. I will find a way to change that.
