Default Help getting started

i have just joined up after lurking around here for quite a while. very very interested in making a scale rock crawler and have looked at tons and tons of pics and read countless amounts of post. i want to build something scale jeep bodied looking rig. sould i start out with a whole rc and build up replace or swap stuff from there?? i really like the look of "real" axles and driveshafts and was wondering what model they came under. any advice to get me started would be great. i dont mind making anything (unless it involves complicated electronics) was looking at chassis but once again need to be pointed in the right direction on what to start with. whole new in box truck or but peice by peice and build it.

thanks in advance everyone.

I would start w/ a TLT. That will get you your axles. Then you'll need a tranny. Stampede is the most common, but Losi, Associated, and Vader tranny will work. Ad a set of traxxas drive shafts and then you'll need to finish building or purchase a chassis.

And then there is the links, or leaves. Shocks, tires, wheels, motor, electronics, body ect... ect...

Like I said, I'd start w/ a TLT.

Here is a link to a tlt kit. So far the best price and where the majority here get them from. $79.95 shipped. http://www.ultimatehobbies.com//p609.html

then do as dez said and search the scale forum or the TLT they will bolth get you started.
