rc4wd winch motor replacement

so i have the rc4wd 9500 brushless winch and its a P.O.S. bought it off a friend who never opened it. I put it on my rig for a while then got a 3rd channel on my tx and used it twice and it started giving me issues. So im wondering if the 9300 and 9500 are the same could i just put a 9300 winch motor in this winch (and im going to use a different winch controller.)
