Talking EVX - Do I use 1 or both motor connectors?

Finally got stuff running on project Hannibal Lecter and had a question about the EVX esc modification. I followed the directions posted in the Tech section on modifying the EVX to run on a single battery pack. I just noticed today that Twisted says

"After this mod, you can ditch the other motor as well. Wire tie the connector and excess motor wires out of the way, plug it all in and go wheeling! "

Does this mean that I should go ahead and wire up a harness or can I use the second set of motor connectors for the second motor. The EVX was designed to run two motors, but I also know that it is intended to be powered by two battery packs. TIA!
