Default I got a good deal on Losi shocks, will they work on my Wraith?

The hobby shop had a return and they let me buy them for half price. They are Losa5417, front/rear shock set (4): 8B/8T. Will they work on my basically stock Wraith? Do they make a soft enough spring that will fit? I had a hard time finding any info on them but I think they are 4 1/2" tall X 1/2". Thanks.

Keeping in mind that the shocks are wider than the stock Wraith, you might have clearance issues, but you could work around that using RC8 upper shock mounts and bolting them to the chassis up top. I think it'll most likely smooth out the handling if you are driving the Wraith as a "buggy". But if you are using it as a crawler, you may find that the rebound and oil will not be optimal. Extremely hard to beat the quality of Losi shocks though. Pro-Line wishes they could accomplish what Losi has.

Thanks Tbone25, that's what I was wanting to know. I lean more to the crawler side. I'll go ahead and try them and see what happens.

After you try them stock, you might try drilling out the pistons or trying other pistons and oils. Good Luck! I am anxiously waiting to hear your results!

I think I have figured out how to put the shocks together right, first time to build any. First one I used piston with largest holes, 32 weight oil. To stiff. Second one I enlarged holes in piston and same 32 weight oil. Much better, but not perfect. I need to get some lighter oil and there is still room to drill out the holes a little more. I haven't found any springs around here yet so I have not tried attaching to wraith yet.

rpp and tcs both carry losi springs. i ran them on my wraith. i liked losi golds in the front, losi whites in the rear. i ran the stock 3 hole pistions with 20wt oil. i still think my oil was a little light tho.

Thanks guys, it makes me feel better knowing this has been done and being new to RC's, that I am not totally screwing up. Lol.
