Default How RC stub axles are measured?

I've be scowering the tower website trying to find a pair of stub axles that will work in my project. MY quesion is how do they measure the lenght of the stub axle? (From end to end, from the end of the cup to start of the threads, from the end of the threads to the start of the cup?)
At this point the stub I am replacing is about 50mm from end to end and 5mm in diameter I think. So far the closest thing I found are the hpi mt stub axles. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXM659&P=7
Thanks

I use HPI's on my TLT and I get about 1/2" more width total with them. Not sure what PN. they are I just bought 3 or 4 diff. ones and tried them to find what worked.
