Angry Belt skipping

I got my truck together with my new chassy and everything, was going good, get the new truck out side go to crawl and the lower center diff i guess you call it is spinning when you get into any load so the front would only move, so i took it out, locked it and then put everything back together and tried it and when you start to crawl and put load on the truck the belt skipps like crazy and clicks like crazy too, so i thought it was maby the pinion wasn't close enuff to the spur, but thats fine maby little too close actually, but when i watch the belt when holding onto the truck its turing up top just must be skipping below, how can i fix this besides going with a xxxt, or a stampede, tranny, im leaning towards the xxxt tranny, is that a good one to go with? anyways is there any way to fix it befor i get a new tranny? is this why everyone switches trannys becz the stock one sucks?
thanks

Your best bet is to ditch the stock tranny, in favor of something stronger.

You could fab up a belt tensioner, to tighten the belt up for now.

Yes, for the most part. As you've seen the belt drive sucks. I had it on mine for a bit, but ditched it after a month or so. The Pede/XXXT/Stealth trannys obviously don't have this problem. And they can be mounted to lower the center of gravity far better than the stock tranny.

if you cant afford to get a real trans, you could fab up a tensioner of sorts for the belt. i tried a spring loaded tensioner but ended up making a fixed tensioner using some bearings, spacers and a short link rod from the kit. i ran countless batteries through that truck on the original belt with no issues before robbing the axles for another project. just set it up a little tighter than you think it should be and try it out.
