Default New to RC crawlin, build coming soon.

First off hello all. Great site you got here.

I got into the RC crawling thing by way of the Wally World crawler, the Nylint. I quickly outgrew that thing, but for what it is you cant complain. I knew I needed a better rig. I did a quick google search and found this place... I love it! Reminds me soo much of Pirate...

I'm starting things off with a TLT based crawler, but it will probably evolve into a scaler on a custom frame or tuber...

I ordered up a bunch of parts... Bolt on, I know. I dont have the tooling or space to 1 off this build, living in a small apartment.

the parts ordered as of now:
TLT kit new from Ultimate $70 shipped.
XRC Full Comp Chassis, 60/40, black Delrin links, ?4N1? (waiting on email)
threaded T-Max shocks
2.2 Moads
90T Spur
12T Pinion
Stampede Trans
Integy 65T lathe
Traxxas long 1/2 shaft pro pack
Associated black 3pc wheels
Moped ESC (got the wrong one)
Redevex RD620 servo
Blue Bird BMS620 servo
(at $15 each I'll try them out)
Tekin Rebel 2
HPI Rubicon Body. played out I know... but its a close match to my 1:1 crawler.

Still got a few things to order, and a lot of work to do. Gonna have to sell off my super BLING NTC3 to fund this thing...

My plans are just a casual crawler, no comps... never seen one in DE/MD anyway! I want full controll of 4WS, so its a Spektrum DX6 radio for the thing. Gonna try a few tricks for the other channels.

Anyway, just wanted to say HI, and let you know ya got another n00b hanging 'round.

So how much did all that cost you? Did you order it from one place or several different places?

I'm up over 900. So your half way there. I even built my own frame, but 900 counting the charger and batteries.

Any reason why you're using two different servos?

Only to see if they will hold up, and if one is better than the other, real world. Things arent always what they seem on paper. I figgure for $15 a pop I'll test them both. Dont want to spend the $ on parts I dont really need. If I'm not going to hose a $15 servo why but a $40 one... one way to find out if I need it, and if I do I'm only out $15 ea.

There are a few here running the Blue bird, and no complaints... figgured I'd try one of them and one of the Redevex's. Both have the same stats.

Trying to figure out batts... I know nothing about them... searching... My head hurts!

ok, David (Xtreme RC) and Dez pointed me in the right direction for batts. Working on that now.

I also got the wrong associated wheels! :-( oops. I just ordered a set of the Xtreme R/C 2.2 narrowed Revolvers.

Only a few parts left to hunt down.
