shame on me because i ask this but man i need to know. if you take the e-maxx tranny i your hand and look at it to the side with the spur on wich way does the spur need to turn in order to have the truck going foward. it would be dumb to mount the tranny backward ... |

Technically you can mount it in either direction, mount it the way that suits you the best. If the truck goes backwards, you can always just switch the wires on the motor. Otherwise... In my 'stock' e-maxx, the spur gear is facing the rear of the truck (motor endbells facing the front). Hope that helps... | |

It will not hurt the motor. How do you think they go in reverse? And do what ever you need to do to get it moving forward.

Just make sure the motors are set at zero timing. I think lathe motors are neutral timed from the factory, but it's just something to keep in mind.

| I've now had at least 7 different Lathe motors go through my hands and every one of them has been set at 0* timming from the factory. Another option for those who do not want to 'just switch the wires around' is to axctually rotate the endbell 180*. That will 'reverse' the rotation of the motor. |
