well it looks like your posts have little to no technical stuff to them.
things like "thats a nice rig" really dont count.

certain areas do not count toward your post count either.

From the "Forum Rules" (link at the top, in green)

Quote:
Post Count

Certain forums do not count posts when posted in, so if you have posted in any of these forums, that is why your not seeing your post count increase.

The following forums do not add to your post count.
Chit chat
Comments, Suggestions, and Help
Regional (all regional sub forums)
Classifieds

Don't think that a high post count makes you "cool" or respected. A person who posts a little good information will always be respected more than someone who posts a lot of garbage.

Wow..No other hobby site that I'm a member of operates quite like this one. I've been buying, selling and trading rc stuff for years without a complaint. I thought the idea was to try to grow the hobby and not push people away. I'd like to upload some pics of my current crawlers but even that is a pain in the butt if you aren't a star holding member.

These features are in place to cut down on people visiting the site and abusing different areas. Essentially you need to show you are interested in this hobby and you're not just here to take advantage of the for sale section.

Buy a star...it'll pay for itself the first time you buy something. Not to mention speeding up the search function, being able to enter the giveaways, etc. etc. etc.

There is absolutely zero difference in uploading photos to here or to an off-site hosting service (like Photbucket). No difference whatsoever.
And I don't know how others do it, but it's exactly the same as far as copying/pasting the link in a post. Doesn't matter worth a squat if the link is .rcc or .photobucket

How did you think it worked for star holding members?

This thread shows you how to use photobucket to host your pictures. It isn't hard to do and it is free.

Posting Pics For Dummies

Buying a star helps support the operation of this site and also makes you eligible for the various vendor giveaways during the year.

Nothing good in life is free, pay up $, sucker. That or let me know what time supper is and no dumping something out of a box. I want quality service, for free, three times a day. Oh yeah, you buy the food too, just like the Internet service you paid for to write these posts.

I don't have a star & uploading pics is easy.
Bashing a forum as a new member is counterproductive if you are here to learn & contribute.

I'm sure the hobby's growing just fine even with our silly little rules ruining your rcrawler.com experience .

Well worth the wait!... As a new guy to this forum but not rc's nor forums, its not really that different. So you have to wait 30 days, contribute to some relivent posts, ask some questions etc.... It gets you involved with the forum community, and probably a bit of respect. The fs section seems to be worth the price of a star. I have yet to purchase a star, for I rather "earn my keep" so to speak.
