Default Integy Pro 55T Lathe....What Gearing?

I just bought the Integy Pro 55T Lathe motor to put in my stock TLT. What gearing should I be running with it? I plan on going to 2.2 wheels and tires soon. Thanx.

I went with a 96T Spur and 13T pinion and it's probably overkill. Had to grind on the tranny plates quite a bit to let the motor sit close enough to mesh the pinion and spur. Not a lot of wheel speed, though. Depends on how you like to crawl, though.

I have the same question. I am running an 81 apur, the absolute biggest I can run with my setup. I am running the same motor as the thread starter, and Moabs.

What pinion should I run with this combo?

Advanex, are you running the stock TLT trans?

I'm running a 55t Integy in a Rustler trans with a 87t spur with a 14t pinion with All-T's (these tires are taller than most 2.2's) and a standard 6 cell 3000mah pack. This gearing works great for me. Alright wheel speed, great low end.

The 87t spur is the largest that will fit on the pede/rustler trans when using maxx shafts. The clearance is very tight, but it does fit.

Bluemonster, you could try running a small pinion like the 14t. I think thats the smallest 48pitch pinion (not 100% sure).

Yes, it is the stock tranny. I will be putting mashers or something to that effect on it pretty quick.

Man, thanks for that tip. I was skeptical about how big a difference an additional 17% in voltage would make. It's WAY better now!

Yeah, a lathe will take 12 volts, it's only a matter of what your speed control can handle. I ran a 9.6 pack of my buddies, simply amazing the difference.

12t is the smallest 48p pinion I've seen
