Default Mechanical Speed control help?

So i just got my txt finished and i have been trying to get the speed control to behave.. I have greased the switch with the supplied grease but when there is any pressure against the truck like climbing or whatever i have to give it a lot more throttle and then it surges forward... I am using a 4 channel futaba radio with a 7 channel reciever and hitech digital servos. Any word on this or do i have to just swap over to a novak to gain that extrememly slow speed control i want out of it. My nylints are junk but they have extremely good control at very low speeds. This is what i want out of my txt... Thanks and sorry for the lengthy post...

Go with an electronic speed contol for sure. The stock MSC is just an on/off switch basically.

On/Off switch is right - Bought a my txt used and the mechie speed controller was screwed - only one setting of the three worked - full throttle. With a pair of 21 turn Fireballs in it, I couldn't steer it - it would just lift the front end until I let go of the throttle or it hit the fence. Only ran it that way once.
Was a good show though!

Not to mention the fun of it going runaway when the pack wears down and the servo no longer moves.
