Default Axial AX10 vs SCX10 Whats the difference?

My local HS has the Axial AX10 Deadbolt but not the SCX10 Deadbolt, what is the difference between the two?

I have read on here the SCX10 Deadbolt is the best Axial RTR to buy because it has the latest updates. How does the SCX10 Jeep Wrangler G6 Falken edition stack up?

Thanks for answering this newbies questions.

The ax10 is more of a rock crawler/racer...The scx10 is a trail truck.

The new scx deadbolt is an improved version of the scx10 with new electronics..otherwise just a different body and tires and lights yada yada.

You might also want to let him know that the AX-10 Deadbolt has AR60 axles (wider) and 2.2 tires and wheels. Don't forget a tube comp chassis.

Either rig is a great starting point. If you're more into the scale part of it then I'd say go with the scx10 and if you want more of a crawler then go for the ax10 and start upgrading. You can't go wrong with either rig and with proper tuning and upgrades you'll have a really good rig for comps or just exploring. The new Falken is a sweet rig (now when I say "sweet" I mean by putting a more than a couple grand into it..that's another story). Either the deadbolt or the Falken are practically the same..just different tires and the body.

Thanks for the quick replies, I think I am going to get either the SCX10 Deadbolt or Wrangler G6 Falken.

I was reading the instructions on these models and even the speed control instructions and is says it can use 2-3s LiPo batteries but does not say the voltage? What voltage should I get? Could you recommend some good battery brands.

Thanks

2-3S means two or three cells in series. Given that each cell is 3.7V nominal the nominal voltage is 7.4V and 11.1V respectively.

I'd opt for 3S ~3500mAh, which will allow you to replace the motor with something more efficient. The stock 27T motor will be speedy at 12V, so getting a 35T motor will get you more runtime with cooler motor and still sufficient (slightly less) speed.

I picked up the SCX10 Jeep Wrangler Faulken Tire G6 this morning. I noticed the front drive shaft hits\rubs another shaft\bar on the chassis when fully flexed, is this normal?

Can you guys list some online stores where to buy genuine Axial parts (at a discount)? The local hobby shop only has tires even told me to buy batteries online.

Thanks

I suppose so. It's not a problem in use, because it will very rarely flex that much during runs.
