I have never painted a lexan body before so Im not too sure If I can just use normal spray paint instead of special lexan paint. I want to buy paint from lowes instead of waiting for paint to arrive in the mail. So can normal spray paint be used? |

normal paint does not have enough flex to work on a lexan body, it will flake on the first bend. There are some paints availabe at hardware stores that are made for plastics, but ive never used them to paint a rc body.

"normal" spray paint will crack, run, and flake off the lexan surface- why waste 30+$ on a body and ruin it with cheap (it is actually not cheaper) lowes spray paint. Plan it out, take your time, do it right. The lid is the first thing people see on your rig; you want it to look like junk? Tamiya is my personal fav. paint; Pactra works well also. matt cincy | |

I usually just grab the small racing finish rattle cans off of the shelf at the LHS. Stuff works great. I just recently did a three tone stripe shceme with metallic red, indy silver, and outlaw black on a bronco body and there wasn't a single run in the paint. Just spray the coats on lightly, but not too light or too heavy. (I made those mistakes on my first 4 bodies. Krylon doen't do too bad of a job either. |

The body is the first thing people see so thats why I wanted to ask you guys what will work best. Know I know that the Lexan paint is the best way to go and that's what Im going to do. Thanks all! |
