Default what to get???

Im NOT new to the hobby by any means, HOWEVER, I have been completely OUT of the hobby for 3 years. The last crawler I had was an R1 and I liked it. Ive also had the ax10 and liked it. I have absolutely no intentions of competing in any events ever. With that being said, I just bought a new house and want to make a course in my back yard for mainly just me but a buddy too whenever. I don't really want a scaler and don't really want a rock racer so Maybe losi night crawler or what ya recommend for my needs??? Id also prefer to stay RTR for the most part. Starting budget of under $500

Wraith is a great start if you don't want a 1.9 scale rig. The Wraith is definitely a scaler still though. Probably one of the most scale rigs available, full interior, scale looking axles, etc.

Axial is going to be better supported for when you need something.

The Bully comes with low end electronics that even on RTR terms are lacking.

If your looking for 2.2s the either a Wraith or AX10 Deadbolt could be good options. Also, HPI have just released a new CK ( HPI's New Crawler King Release..... ) which'd leaved you plenty of $$$$ for upgrades. Personally, I'd wait for the Wraith Spawn to come out cause it's cheaper than the other Wraiths and looks better than the Deadbolt, plus it's got a new (re-branded) ESC that'll run 3S out of the box that's waterproof and has a Tactic servo.

Get something different than most - Vaterra Ascender! If not, the Axial SCX10 or Deadbolt are great options with tons of support. Personally, I love my GMade Sawback more than any of my other rigs. The only issue is that the leaf springs bend and need to be replaced if you drive it hard like I do.

Nice! The Wraith is a fun and versatile vehicle. You can make it a slow crawler, trail rig, or fast FoFF rig.
