I've bought one during the Christmas deal, but haven't finished my build. So I haven't tried it out. I'm comparing it to my Axial AX-3 & my FlySky GT3C. I imagine that it will be comparable. Hoping to give it a test run this weekend.

Got mine setup with the Ascender. At first I though it might be more difficult to use than Flysky because of the thumbwheel. Way wrong, first impressions are great for me (novice user). I was able to get it to bind with my micro rally right away, which is great, now i can slow it down so I can control it inside. When I get a cheap digital servo, the AVC rx will be going in my HPI Trophy truck.

I don't have one so I can't confirm this but I hear the firmware update that allows use of the AVC system also makes many non-AVC receivers not work with the radio anymore. I have a DX3C that I use for my secondary radio and not being able to use the $10 Orange receivers from Hobbyking would upset me greatly because they have been more reliable and glitch-free than actual Spektrum receivers.

I am running the DX4C with AVC programming in my Summit, Slash, Tmaxx 3.3, and SCX10 Honcho with no glitching or range issues at all. I am using the new 3 & 4 channel DSMR Rx's. The new DSMR technology fixed all the issues (range & glitching) from the past with the DSM/DSM2 technology. The DSMR Rx's are pricey but you get great response and range. I have driven my summit to the point I couldn't see it very well and still had control of the vehicle.

I haven't used any orange rx's, but I can tell you this tx hooks up with non-AVC rx's. I have had it hooked up to my old nightcrawler-losi spektrum rx non-avc, an ECX torment spektrum non-avc, mini revo spektrum w/AVC, Wraith spektrum non-avc. I have had no issues binding any of those rx's to my dx4c.

so far I have no real complaints with mine, did have my savox servo glitching a bit when I set the digital end points down on my yeti, setting it back to 100% had it working fine. It's light, comes with a couple different grips, comfy for me, and the menu's are easy to use. And it is correct that the knock off orange receivers do not work with the DX4C with the new firmware, genuine spektrum rx's bind fine.

I got the DX4C with the non-AVC receiver. This is my first radio that is adjusted via menus and not a bunch of knobs to turn. I'm still getting familiar with it, but so far so great. And it was $99. I'm sure there are a lot better 4-channel radios out there, but what I have is way better than I deserve. Did I mention it was only $99?
