x2 on the HH on the waterproof BRXL.
For two reasons:

1) The BRXL is a great ESC.

2) The support from Holmes Hobbies is really great. If the BRXL smokes after the warranty is up you can get it replaces for about 1/2 price.

I will never use novak again. Had 2 different esc's give me tons of hassle.

FXR i have used and liked. Did what I needed it to and has a very small footprint.

BR-XL I have had no experience with. From what i have heard and read, its the best for brushed crawling, but the footprint is a little big for some applications (same as the castle housing).

If you have the space, go for the br-xl. If I was going brushed in my wraith, thats what i would have got.

Either fxr or holmes. I prefer the fxr simply for the form factor, the brxl is a good esc as well however just harder to hide sometimes.

Do not buy Novak.

In my Wraith I use HH BR-XL. Best ESC for brushed motors.

I'm currently sitting on

(4) CC Micro-Sidewinders
(1) Axial AE-2
(1) CC MMM 2650
(2) CC Sidewinders {V-1}
(6) CC BECs

All programmable with my CastleLink.

The HH Br-Xl is also CastleLink compatible. The Novak and Tekin are not.

So out of pure convenience, I'd choose the HH Br-Xl. (Though I'd likely go with the mini, and another CC BEC.)

I love my FXR. It's so small, it's hard for me to look at anything else. It's just one less thing I have to worry about packaging/hiding. But, I'm more of a scale guy.

I have all of these. FXR is tiny and is easy to set up and adjust but is not waterproof. BRXL Waterproof is big and can be programmed via Castle link, but I use mine as it came and am happy with it. My Novak Eiger has never given me any problems what so ever. Easy to program with plenty of options.
