exc temper 1/18 crawler upgrades

I have watched a couple youtube vids with guys going to bigger wheels and tires and a few other mods. Wondering first if the bigger tires will put too much stress on the drivetrain etc and am open to any suggested modifications that would be the best place to start. I am new so put it in dummy terms for me if you dont mind. ITs for my 7 year old.

Welcome to the forum Chewitt.

I am interested in some info on the Temper as well since I just bought my daughter one. It's still pretty new on the market so I don't think the aftermarket support is there yet other than stock replacement parts. Good news is that it has been getting great reviews and my LHS's around me are selling them like hotcakes. As long as they continue to sell the aftermarket parts will start flowing in.

I couldn't find much of anything on this forum regarding it, really the only forum type place has been ECX's forum.

There are a couple good threads covering these, and their clones (Redcat and Exceed). Some real good info there. Search for Exceed MaxStone 16 (or EMS16) or Redcat Everest 16. I've got the ECX myself, and have been doing some mods (just haven't yet posted about it). There is also another forum out there that is centered around ECX products, but not hosted by ECX. This rig is a blast out of the box, but it's hard for me not to mod...

Looks like Losi Mini Crawler, check out that section here on RCC, might be lots of parts interchange since Hobbico owns ECX and Losi.
