Default 1/8 MaxStone vs. 1/8 MadTorque

Hi Everyone-

The 1/8 MaxStone RTR is $199 and the 1/8 MadTorque RTR is $167. Is the extra $30 buck worth the MaxStone? What are the differences between the two? I can see the upper control arms/mounts are designed better on the MaxStone. But are the axles, motors, ECS, Receiver, Servo the same?

Thanks!

Isn't the Madtorqe a motor on axle rig? I know the maxstone is a shafty rig. I recently bought a used maxstone. I stripped it down for parts for a 6x6 build I'm doing. The axles looked pretty strong, and the links are nice. Imho the gears in the axles look like a better quality than the standard axial gears it's based off of. I think the maxstone is supposed to be a copy of the old ax10 scorpion.

The MadTorque is a motor on axle rig. I thought both rigs were motor on axle.

I just checked nitrorcx.com and the MaxStone is also a MOA. Crawler Radio Car 1/8th Scale 2.4Ghz Exceed RC MaxStone 4WD Powerful Electric Remote Control Rock Crawler 100% RTR RC Remote Control

That is interesting the 1/10 maxstone is a shaft and the 1/8 is a MOA.

Your right it sure is. I have the 1/10 maxstone and it is shaft driven. Figured the 1/8 would be the same. With that said disregard my previous post. Wish I could help you though.

Tagged cuz I'm curious about this myself.

It looks like the axles are different.

I think the Mad Torque has Berg axles, not sure what the Maxstone has.

The Maxstone ESC is more expensive and looks different, not sure what the difference is though.

Looks like it would be pretty easy to make both 4WS, although they both appear to come with a 2ch TX and 2ch RX which would need upgraded.

I have been considering the Mad Torque as a cheap way to start building a superclass rig.
