| Just scored a rubicon g6!
Was into 1:1 trail riding and crawling... Had a son and had to sell my xj... Now I figured this might fill some of the void and I'm already into Rc racing... So what upgrades should I look at?

I'm kinda thinking a lower cog battery relocation might be a good first mod

I'd also recommend the Axial or Vanquish CVDs for the front axle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You might also consider the shocks. I have the ICON version that comes with the kit. They look great, but leak and the spacer between the dual rate springs binds on the shock bodies. You can fix the spring binding by putting the short one on the bottom and the log one on top (removes the conflict with the shock body, but the springs are upside down, so you have to be ok with that). For the leaking, I found a thread that suggested using diff fluid. I'm running 3000 wt in mine. The leaking is not as bad and they damp much better. Last step is green slime on the o-rings; I'm trying this next to stop the leaks. But it's a lot of hassle and the performance is still not great. Could instead get a set of Proline scaler powerstrokes ... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm gonna try x rings in the shocks this has cured every other shock leak I have ever had.... I'm going to also polish the shock shafts will def help with smoothness... Also was thinking about modding the pistons to let alil more fluid by so that running thicker fluid wouldn't negatively effect the shocks pack or lack there of

Nice. Do you mean the Team Associated x rings? I haven't tried these, but will do that now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

start with the trans and put steel gears in it, then get some knuckles and chubs. forget the cosmetic crap for now. beef up the rig with strong parts that keep it running, then upgrade as things break, a fancy bumper is useless if the truck dont run. |

Traxxas x-rings work well, too - and can be found at almost any LHS for way cheap...

If you get the stage one kit, you'll also need either Vanquish wheels or wider hexes (steering arms on the Vanquish knuckles rub on most tires if you use standard Axial hexes and non-Vanquish wheels). These hexes worked well for me: https://www.prolineracing.com/perfor...-clamping-hex/ Description says they're for a Slash, but they work fine on SCX10. I think Traxxas also has a "wide" plastic hex that's cheaper. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk | |

Looks like the orings in the axial shocks are much smaller than associated ones
