Default Help with electronics on a SCX10-II please...

Hello all.

Need some help. I am almost done with my SCX10-II built. Opted for Sanwa MT44, Holmes 540 3500KV with trailmaster BLE Pro.

I need advice and instructions on how to wire the electronics. Am I missing anything? Do I need a BEC? Can I run without it? The way I connected the Servo worked but no movement on the motor???? Here is a pic of what i have:

Searched youtube and googled but no luck. Thank you...

Your photo isn't showing up, at least for me.

You don't have to have a BEC for this setup but you're going to want to get one. The motor wiring should be straightforward since it's all Holmes but you do need to calibrate your ESC. From the Holmes manual:

3.1 Calibrating the ESC to YOUR transmitter
1. Remove pinion from motor to prevent accidents
2. Plug in battery
3. Hold full throttle on transmitter before ESC arms
4. ESC will beep and begin flashing red rapidly to indicate storage of full forward throttle position
5. Hold full reverse on transmitter until beeping changes
6. ESC will beep rapidly with no lights to indicate storage of full reverse throttle position
7. Position throttle in neutral position, adjust throttle trim until all lights go out
8. After about two seconds, ESC will store neutral position
9. Once calibration is complete, ESC will arm

The entire manual is here in case you don't have one:

Yes, I can see the photo now. I'm glad that worked out for you. I have that same motor/ESC combo in my Wraith and it's wicked. On occasion I'll run it on 4s when I'm jonesin' for new parts.

Castle/Holmes will tend to have weak BEC's & if cutout/brown out becomes an issue then an external BEC would be needed or direct connect the Battery to the Receiver.

Seeing as you have a HV servo & a receiver rated for 2s use also, you can direct wire off of the 2s battery ahead of the ESC to the receiver & disconnect the red wire between the ESC & Receiver.
You can fashion a separate cord & plug into the balance connector for Receiver & Servo.
Be mindful direct connecting is only good on 2s voltage, if you go 3s you will need to tap off of different points in the balance connector.

Is there a schematic or photo of the wiring instructions for a setup as you are describing? I am a very visual person and hard for me to figure out the way you explained....Thanks for the responses. I am excited to get this bad boy running...

Here is the concept, but as long as you are running a 2s & have HV Servo & Receiver you don't need a external BEC you can hot wire the receiver to the battery power.

Note the red wire disconnected from the ESC to the receiver.
You can do it on the ESC connector by releasing the pin with an exacto blade or a pick or make a servo extension with the red wire cut & peeled out of it.

Imagine just not needing the BEC & Red & Black wires passing straight through.
You can make a lead from a servo extension.
You can also use servo extensions to get out of the receiver box too.

This will only work with HV rated servos & receivers on 2s.

not my photo

If your thinking of adding a bec just pick up the homes y adaptor at the same time
