Smile Searching for a good looking rig

A newbie to crawlers here, I have some experience with RC racing. I'm searching for something like this (just the look)

I know that this is a RTR (don't want RTR), I'm reading about a good crawler to start and that I can "upgrade" in the future. Found that SCX10 is in the top. I'm open to suggestions to reach my goal (like picture but not that body in special) with a good chassis, tires, motor. etc.

Thanks for your help.

Body can be easily changed anytime, just match the wheelbase or adjust links to fit. That pic is GMade Komodo, check out build threads, picture galleries and see what there is and how the feedback is. Vaterra Ascender is my favorite.

Best kit on the market IMO is the Vaterra Ascender. Comes with most of the upgrades the original SCX10 needs. They're not producing the original SCX10 in kit form anymore and the date of when the 10.2 kits will be available again is still unknown. The Ascender allows you to build one of 4 wheelbases out of the box. It only comes with the WB4 K5 blazer body but most 12.3" wheelbase crawler bodies should fit. My $0.02.

Default Searching for a good looking rig

I've had the Komodo RTR for a little while and I really like it and there is a kit version if that's better for you.

The kit is around $300 and you can use coupon codes with the major online retailers.

I upgraded to CVD's to improve steering, added weight in the axles and installed sticky tires and it's really capable.
