12mm hex is the standard, and for the Ascender you will be best served by 1.55" or 1.9" diameter wheels and the tires that are sold to mount on those rim sizes. 2.2" will tend to look unrealistic, or "out of scale" - like 22" wheels on a real truck as opposed to 15" or 19". Tires can be as tall as you can fit without rubbing, or you can even go bigger and trim your fenders. However, staying close to the height that came on the vehicle is usually best for performance. Smaller can look more realistic and make crawling more of a challenge - while bigger increases ground clearance but raises center of gravity (make the vehicle roll over more easily). If you are shopping for beadlocks they will most likely all be 12mm hex compatible. Last edited by durok; 12-21-2017 at 08:52 PM. |
