Default Mini Crawler Suggestion

Hello Crawler Fans,

We recently got or first two RC scale crawlers, a 1/12 ECX Barrage kit and a 1/24 RGT Adventurer RTR. I was going to get another micro to play with the RGT inside, and another 1/12 or 1/10, but now I'm thinking it might be better, at least for now, to have one sort of an in-between size, that could be used to run with both the 1/12 outdoors and the 1/24 indoors. I am thinking ECX Temper 1/18 or Redcat e16, but what I'd really like is to find something pre-owned, especially one I could build myself. As always, I'd appreciate your thoughts on what you would get and why.

Thank you,
MP

I've got a 1/24 scale losi trail trekker and that thing will crawl indoors and out. Mounted a washer inside each rim for some extra wheel weight and it still surprises me how well it climbs and crawls. Doesn't help your size situation though.
The LHS here sells a 1/18 scale Vaterra Sliprock that might be what your looking for. I've never tried one personally but I've owned some Vaterra products and they where quite well made.
Hope this helps

I may be wrong but my understanding is that the slickrock was discontinued.

Yeah it is https://www.horizonhobby.com/products/VTR01003

But you might still be able to find them, though it does seem mighty pricey and part support might be poor.

The barrage, temper and e16 are really all based of the same axles and transmission.

If you are looking for a slickrock give eBay a shot.
