| What tranny best in a Max/ shafty ?
Been doing some thinking and reading, I don't like my bulky, heavy, high center of gravity, low belly e-max trans How about a RC4WD tranny ,or Stealth, stampede for crawling? For the serious builders What tranny have you changed to ? And are you able to bolt on a gear reduction unit like a gd600 ? Thanks RC4Wd tranny very affordable Pics of my CraWler project Last edited by toy4crawlin; 02-08-2007 at 02:13 PM. |

The pede tranny is good. You just need to lock it. There are a lot of write ups about how to get the maxx joints to hook to it. Good luck.

| What is wrong with the Maxx tranny that is in the truck? I found that 1 motor wasn’t enough in my Maxx because of its size and it would stall on the rocks, so I am running 2 55t lathes... I also don’t think that a pede with 1 motor is going to lower your COG that much... I would rethink the shock and link mounts to lower the truck... Just my 2 cents... |

As I stated I don't like my bulky maxx trans. There must be something better and smaller . It's also very top heavy. I don't care that much about low buget, when I build my cars I build in detail, don't care to much on the $$. Yes the links need to fixed, thank you I'm working on them. I have been wanting to build a CraWler ever since I came across Jay Kopycinski Web site on his Crawlers. So yrs ago I started buying parts but without knowing about THIS RC Crawler website . So it's been slow moving until know. With things poor at work I needed something new/exciting since I'm no longer big in my street luge racing- 2004 World Champion on 9 nations, & from 5 years of travel/racing it put me in huge debt$$$$. With my nephew getting his first Rc I started pulling my cars out and I just went a bought my First Maxx crawler on ebay, it has some good parts on it and I plan on building it up like a real buggy. I will start a new thread on my crawler build up. I just got some Redrocks and new Moab XL from ebay Just need some rims (beadlock) that are centered (axle mounts in middle of rim) Not Deep dish Last edited by toy4crawlin; 02-08-2007 at 04:02 PM. | |
