Default Stampede 2wd, motor options?

Hi,
Have a stock 2wd Stampede, XL5 ESC. Came with 550/12T motor. Ran it wet, put it away wet, forgot :(
Still troubleshooting, but I believe motor is shot.
Looking for recommendations for replacement motor.
It is my sons truck, and could run a bit slower if I could get more run-time.

Any thoughts? Don't want to spend a bunch right now.
I was really into my old electric RC buggies back in the late 80's, but I'm an old guy now who's been away from it for a while, and much has changed!

School me a bit please.

Thanks!!

Stock motor or Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster sport 550 12t.

Make sure nothing's binding (seized bearings possible if its been put away wet).

Edit: you could gear it down with a tooth or two smaller pinion. The motor will have an easier time that way.

I would just go with another Titan 550 with a smaller pinion gear to slow it down.

No matter what brushed motor you put on there, without proper maintenance after running in wet conditions, it will die.

27 Turn motor would slow you down a bit. Cheap too!

have you tryed wd40 inside the motor ive had more than one were the brush stuck and the motor was fine itz worth a try maybe give it a few taps while spinning it by hand also it cant hurt anything and might save a few bucks and a few days however having a spare on hand isent a bad idea

i never clean my rigs even after mud snow or whatever else is saposed to ruin them im not recamending my maintinence schedule just saying that shouldent kill your motor
