I made the first real visible progress on the WK today, and figured it was worth a few pictures. I like to think of it as being half way to ready for me to build a chasis for it. I'm linking to all the pictures hosted elsewhere, so yall middle click or something First picture is from the side, and should give some idea how far back the rear axle moved when I did this. You can see the maxx slider, HB savage shocks (travel has been limited a little) and the lowered battery case. This should make room for some form of gear head reduction unit at some point in the future. I don't think it would have fit stock. For the record, the wheel base is an even 10 inches. http://wilderness.homeip.net/cothary...album=10&pos=0 This one is looking back under the truck. It gives you a good idea how tall the top link mount actually is. Believe it or not, the shocks reach full compression in articulation before the mount hits the battery case. Straight compression (both shocks at once) is a whole 'nuther story. Which I may or may not address at some point. http://wilderness.homeip.net/cothary...album=10&pos=1 This shot from the back lets you see everything bolted into the chasis in place of the stock links, plus you can get a pretty good idea that the angle of the axle is basically the same as it is using the stock linkage. http://wilderness.homeip.net/cothary...album=10&pos=2 The obligatory "flex" shot. You'll have to pardon the angle. I try to keep my gun pr0n out of RC pictures, but the RC workbench and the reloading bench are right next to each other :P http://wilderness.homeip.net/cothary...album=10&pos=3 |

Cherokee body? Heh. I'll think about it. Of course I've got designs on making a tube chasis for this thing when I get the suspension sorted out. Glad you like it so far. I've discovered I need to make some more changes to the gearing and such - plus I need a good lathe motor, but I can't seem to find any in stock. Ah well, the right motor is almost pointless until I have the parts to make it 4wd right?

I believe JIA uses the Novak Crawler system in Ralph. But just do a quick search and I bet you find a hundred others that use it in something. Josh |

Is nice. Ralph runs a TXT tranny with 9 tooth pinion and the Novak system on six cells. Is nuts.

So if I was to build a tuber and tend towards the indestructable side when doing so, do you think the weight would be too much for the Revolver? You gotta think - with the stock gearing in the WK I overheated the stock ESC tonight messing around in my back yard (read: Climbing a stump.) - I know I'm geared too high still, but I've never messed with brushless motors, and so I have nothing to compare this to.

Hard to define. Indestructable depends on which motor you use. |
