Default Rear axle lock

I started putting my tlt axles together and i wanted to know how to lock out the rear axle. I have searched for the past hour before i wrote this and i couldn't come up with anything. I would like to kow what some other people have done. This is my first build and i'm just not to sure one some things yet.
Thanks

Easiest way - Inside the differential there are three bevel gears that ride on a Y-shaped carrier, they make contact with the pinion. Remove the carrier, slide one of the gears off, replace the carrier, then seat the gear you removed in between the other 2 gears, then re-assemble the case. This way it can be reversed should you ever want to.
If you are not worried about un-locking it in the future, de-grease it, re-assemble it per the instructions, pack it with JB Weld, when it dries reassemble the case.
If thats what you mean by "lock out the rear axle". For a dedicated crawler, you'll want to lock all three differentials.
If you mean "lock out" as in disengage or lock both rear wheels, that's a whole 'nother issue with multiple solutions...

Don't know exactly how you want to lock out the rear but check this out. GO to TLT Crawlers (sticky) Sockit to Ya, Front dig. This set up locks out the rear and allows th front to keep pulling or digging. Hope it helps

oops yeah i was wondering about locking the rear axle steering. I read the instructions and it says to lock it to the bumper but i'm not putting that on. I'm sure i could find a way but i was just looking to see what others have done for an easeir and better placement. But i did try putting the gear between the other two and it still spun the same. Or do i have to put it back together for it work? maybe thats what i didnt do i just put and tried it with the case off.
Thanks

Most rear locks are done with short rods from the knuckle end direct to the axle housing... I can't seem to find any pics showing what I mean...

I'll keep lookin' for some... Mebbe someone else will know what I'm talkin' about and post something...

EDIT: found ONE pic of what I mean...

Look at the left side of the pic... You'll see a lil rod from the knuickle to the axle housing... Just about the wheel at the bottom of the pic... Do that to both sides of the rear and there ya have it... They use ball ends and go to one of the axle housing screws... WHich, I don't know but this should at least point ya in the right direction...

Steering lockout. (how I did mine at least)

Diff lock. (again, how I did mine)

I have since added two more spider gears to each differential to prevent the dreaded "post snapping". One was placed on the exposed post, the other sandwiched between the gears like above.
