Default Help with yokes

I am building a tlt kit, and I am using the traxxas platic yokes (I plan on upgrading to metal when I get the extra money) I am having a he!! of a time getting the "balls" into the yokes, the "tabs" will not flex enough to get them in.

Does any one have any tips on how to make it a little easier. I am doing this for two crawlers and I have spent 45min without any luck on one already.

Thanks
TQ

hold a small flat screwdriver on the one side to hold in place ,then push on the other side to snap in place.

if you have a throw away screw driver, notch it in the center first so it holds the pin. I have had one slip off and remove a good chunk of skin before.

if you heat them up good, you shouldnt need a screwdriver.

in alot of traxxas kits they come with a tool specifically made for that task. looks like a rectangle with a notch cut out on one end.

Yup a little heat helps alot. I had one slip yesterday. I was using the back side of the end of a pair of needle nose pliers. It slipped and now I have a 1"x.5x.25" chunk of thumb missing right below my nail.

snap ring plyers work great, use them to spread the tabs and the metal joint slips right in

That's what I've always used.
