Default Good place to start?

Hi all. I have been browsing around this site for a couple of weeks now. Actually stumbled upon it by accident and I think it is a fantastic site. I am kind of new to R/C....been several years since I have touched one. I was wondering if this was a good place to start building a crawler...http://www.orcrc.com/crawlmart/kits.htm I have seen a couple of people talk about the TLT-1 being a good starting point but any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to RCC!

From what I have read, people have enjoyed their TLT's a lot, but you'll still have a good bit of mods to make before you can make it a crawler (from what I understand). Did you want to build a scale, 2.2 or a super?

A scale would be great but being that it is the first time I shouldn't go that way. A 2.2 would be the direction I think I would head in for now. Opinions?

Default Axial AX10 Scorpion

Tlt's are incredible when built up right. The only issue is that they are hard to find since Tamiya discontinued them. You can get a hold of complete axles but have to have a sound idea of your build. I would suggest the Axial AX10 scorpion. It still has to be built but will get you setup for a lot less $$$ I'm planning on the Axial for my next build.

Yes the Axial may be a good place to start. But if you want something now you can pick up a 4x4 HPI Wheely King and have EVERYTHING you need to get running. Then just replace parts with the apporiate crawler specific parts.

Welcome to RCC too!
