You should be able to, but it would be bigger and heavier than many of the alternatives out there.

which blackfoot trans, an original or extreme blackfoot? neither design is very compact. might be interesting to try but like robb said, better to go with other alternatives, compact alternatives. although, new blackfoot trannies are 20 bucks........

Super and King Blackfoot boxes would be great though. They are stacked vertically, so they'd more than likely fit between Tracer or stock TVP's, massive gears, easily lockable diff and 14.7:1 ratio. Just would raise the CG, but you could drop it slightly out the bottom of the chassis. to keep driveshaft angles closer to sane.

I'd never seen a Blackfoot tranny until just now.

And after seeing one my answer to your query would be a big NO.

You'd be way better off with a Stampede, Rustler, Losi XXXT, some kind of buggy tranny. They are half that size...

It is. Blackfoot X's are a 2WD Wild Dagger, or a long and wide Wild Willy 2.
It's the the only Blackfoot to use that box. Strong box, but bloody huge box!.
