Default e-maxx motors

im looking to upgrade to and make my e-maxx fast, will 540 motors work, something in the lines of 12turns or faster??

ok, im here. lol, j/k.

the emaxx motors would be better than a 540 because they are 550's bigger, faster, more torque.

i say keep'm, they should work great. if they arent fast enough take off a couple winds, holmes did a guide a while back on how to rewind motors.

will the 550 sized 12turn out of a traxxas stampede have the torque of a stock emaxx 550 can

The stampede will spin faster, but be useless on 12 cells.

If you want more power you need to volt up with the stock motors or go brushless. You can get some faster brushed motors, but you will spend more for 2 decent brushed motors than one fast brushless.

the motor may be cheapers to go brushless but the esc's are out of my price range

So add a few cells and run the stock motors till they get trashed. Still gonna cost money for new batteries. There isnt any way around spending cash if you want faster.
