Default Motor for Crawling?

I see alot of people use the 35t Lathe Motor for crawling.

I also see towers sells many crawling motors from 50-85 turn.

Any thoughts and experience?

search feature on the top tool bar, use it. there are probably hundreds of thread about motors for crawling. your gonna have to do a little digging for yourself.

it depends on what your building, a 2.2 or a super. for a 2.2 i would use an axiom v10 55t, for super probably up it to 65 or 75 turns. you could always build your own motors also.

have fun and welcome to crawling.

A 35t will give you a littile more wheel speed, it helps if you get centered up on a rock, were a 55t or bigger is good for slow crawling, to get more bite with the tires.

Default 55

I really like the lathe 55's. They seem to be a good well rounded motor. With the right gear ratio, and battery. You can end up with good wheel speed and torque. I am running a 15 tooth pinion, and 87 tooth spur with a lathe 55 on my rig, and am very pleased with this combination. Good luck and welcome.

I have 55t on 2.2 and super clod. Good place to start and adjust the gearing to go slower or faster as necessary.
