Youve got a good start there. One thing I would do that might help would be to take the servo saver off and maybe take the wideners off. With that kind of offset there is all kinds of wheel scrub when turning. Other then that and lots of reading I think your heading in the right way |

Looks good I agree with Twist. I have one TLT that came with the 48mm wideners I think. Anyway, the axle "C" is too exposed and it hangs up on rocks way too much. I went with a wheel with more positive offset to narrow the rig and it hangs up way less.

Many thanks..... great to get the advise from everybody. Shall look into it. By the way, I am thinking to upgrade the chassis, which would you suggest? SW2? or SW3? or MFM Racing Scale Chassis?

Tam, I picked up a SW3 from Brad Dumont at Bender Customs, great guy. Last week end my son in law drove it to a first place MNRCRC with a minus 12 score. It was his first comp ever. We were amazed as there are really good trucks and drivers in that group. The truck was built to the bender build sheet. It has a Mamba 25, TCS big Brushless motor, Traxxas shocks, Pede tranny and he was running 2000k Mashers. It was one of 2 trucks out of maybe 12 to make the bonus gate from hell. I highly recomend it It's a great Rig. Storm' |

You'll have to dump the stock tranny when you get a new chassis. I love my R2, but the pede and stealth are awesome too. Go to www.RCPcrawlers.com they carry everything you could possibly want or need. Check out their chassis selection. The SW3 rocks, but many others are great too, and come with links and servo mounts for less $. The Thunderhorse is a great example.

These vendors here on RCC sell complete Pede trannies. Tammies Hobbies Rpp Hobby Finish Line RC http://www.jpcustomrcs.com/home.html Pretty much all the vendors sell the R2 www.rcpcrawlers.com www.tcscrawlers.com http://www.xtreme-rc-hobbies.net/ THe SW3 is setup for the Pede so that would be the easiest way to get started. You are correct, I got mine on ebay they have a healthy crawler section. Just go to ebay search and type in Stampede transmition. Xtreme RC listed in the vendor section here they sell them as well. There is always Tower Hobby under Traxxas. Brad has a build sheet he ships with the chassis that will help with initial set up...you will need to order your SW3 with link mounts that scew to your axels. You can contact Bender in this vender section. This site is absolutly awesome. Storm' |
