Default shock question

how does running your shocks with out the springs make it handle any better? i have seen a few pics of crawlers with no springs why though?

that is called "droop" suspension ...the springs are actually on the inside of the shock body...basically it works the opposite of a conventional set up...i personally haven't run the droop set up so someone who has will have better knowledge of how it works...
