| Best brushed capable ESC?
I 've been recommended several like tekin rebel, a few Mtronics, and a quark 33, but I'm not gonna go brushless any time soon. What would be a good ESC for crawlin' with a good drag brake. Only one I know if is the SRC, but they're hard to get right now.

Tekin is good, but reverse delay sucks. I'd just save and get a mamba max if i were you. If you ever decide on trying brushless, you wont have to buy a new esc...just axles and driveshafts!!!

I would say either the mamba max or the new Novak rooster Crawler edition. The Novak will limit your input voltage, but have a great BEC. The Mamba Max will allow you to run brushless or even put it in a fast rig, but needs more BEC for proper servo power.

I thought all Mambas were brushless only. That's what the LHS said,

The mamba max will run brushed motors too. I ran a 55t lathe motor this weekend with my mamba max. You just have to change the settings.

It is in the users manual. You use the Castle update software to modify the controller.

Rockin'. Thanks fer the info! Now if I can just find one I can get myself! Tammies is out and I don't know anyone local who may have one. DOn't wanna order on the web. I like tangibility, easier to see what I'm gettin'! Noone has one in the county! Plenty of comboes if I wanna haul a$$ but no just ESC anywhere. Oh well maybe I'll find one used. Thanks again!! |

The Rooster Crawler is Water Resistant, !!!NOT!!! Water Proof. Water Resistant means its hard for the water to get into it but it still can. Water Proof means Just that. Bishop power products has some MM. Here Last edited by Usmc8541; 08-13-2007 at 10:44 PM. |
