Heck screw the 35t and go with a 27t (extra wheel speed) and some big open lugged tires. Like some Imex Claw Dawgs or similar

Yes! Good point. A Mamba Max 4600kv on 11.1 would be killer!

i am thinking about a simmilar kind of build, using the TCS scale chassis, for more UK style of off roading ie lots of mud. would a lathe 55t be any good or should i look for a lower number of turns, i want torque but also wheel speed. thanks

Mudding or hill climbing requires a lot of wheel speed. A 55t motor has plenty of torque no very little wheel speed. I would go with a lower turn motor like something in the 20's

very thick mud here though.. that's the only problem.. i still think brushless! with plenty torque/wheelspeed

I've got a Trinity Speed Gems 14D Serpentine motor in mine.I'm not using mine as a crawler either. Mostly bombing around the yard having a blast!:-P
