I'm looking to get into RC crawling. I like the scale aspect of it and would like a 2.2 crawler with a scale body. For my first one I'm looking at the AX-10. I'm not looking for a comp crawler as there aren't any clubs that I've found in New Jersey. I do have plans for making my own crawl course and hopefully getting my son into R/C. My thoughts are to get the AX-10 and see if it peaks his interest. If so it will become his as I build a tube frame crawler for my second one or buy another ax-10. My question I guess is the AX-10 a reliable crawler? Is it good for a crawling beginner? I've raced R/C for 15 years so I'm familiar with link positions and the effects, as well as the equipment. Your probably bored with reading so I'll stop now. |

The AX10 kit is perfect for beginners, and very reliable from what I've seen.

You can't go wrong with an AX-10 kit, it will be about half the cost of piecing together a rig from scratch and they come with some parts that are considered hop-ups. After your son takes it, you could purchase a bender SW3 chassis and build your own comp rig, which would make you special!!! |

| I live in Littleton, just south of Denver. There are a handful of guys that crawl in the Ft. Collins area.

My son is four years old and has some of the best hand eye coordination I've ever seen. He has a Mini-Z that he drifts around the kitchen with. He's mastered that and I was hoping to get him into a larger vehicle that is a bit slower to help him develop throttle control. Bender: I miss it out there, beautiful country. I'm currently living in New Jersey. (no one crawling around here unless its out of the bar) |
