Default Newbie - Hello!

Just wanted to say "Hi" to everyone. Looks like a great forum! I recently picked up a Wheely King 4x4 for my son this September. I thought it was a great present, but he rarely plays with it. I think I enjoy it way more than he does... I was considering hanging onto it and maybe doing a rock-crawler, but I'm not sure that I have the time and money to put into it.

I will probably end up selling it pretty soon here on the forums, but I have to post at least 30 times before I can do so.

Is there a specific forum just for selling? Just for reference, I live in the Kansas City, KS area.

Thanks for your help!

Not meaning to offend anyone. Like I said, I was more excited than my son to pickup the Wheely King, but that was probably my downfall as well. I kinda bought it for myself.

I figured there might be more interested people here who I'd rather sell to than someone off of ebay. This site actually got me interested in it and was part of the reason I bought it. Watching all of the great mods on here and the realistic looking rigs is great!

I'm not someone here trying to SPAM you or rip someone off. I'm just someone who enjoys the site but found out I don't have the time or money to mod the rig for my son if he's not genuinely interested.

By the way, I was viewing this site LONG before I registered.... Hopefully you're not trying to be rude.

If you wanna make it a crawler just do it like hpi, here is a link. But if you wanna do it your self go to www.towerhobbies.com buy 2 sets of 118mm turnbuckles and 2 sets of 108mm also buy a set of tamiya upper/lower suspension stays, and get either savage shafts or maxx shafts. Then go to www.ckrccrawlers.com and go to wheely king (on left side) and go to axles and steering and get the servo on axle mount kit with links. Go to www.tcscrawlers.com and go over to more, then click on wheely king, get the RCGuy lockers, and get the 96T spur and the 14T pinion. I wouldn't recomend keeping the stock motor or esc but it'll do for the ime being. Hope that helps a little.

Thanks. I read the HPI instructions for doing the rock-crawler mod to it, but the other problem is that we live in a cul-de-sac in Kansas and I've not found anyplace interesting close by to rock crawl it. It's kind of funny though... I have found myself going through the drive-thru at a few McDonalds and thought about running it through the landscaping around the restaurant... lol... Some of the MickeyD's around here have some pretty decent sized rocks around them!

Took a look at it. That's pretty cool. I've worked with a lot of stuff in my life, but I'm pretty sure I've never tapped anything like some of you are doing. What do you use to do this? Do you just use a tap and die set and a bench vise or how exactly do you do it? Do you do center it by eye?
