So how flexible is the gearing because of the short gear ratio of the WK? I actually haven't bought a WK yet but would like to extend it and go brushless for a track/trail truck.

So I got a Pede but want something different. I know the pede is better for this but.....I like customization. BTW, do you know the name of the vid? I saw one named "mamba king." If I went BL in it it would probably be with a novak gtb because they run with 6 cells and run cooler. Any idea if I can put a pack larger than a 6 cell in a WK without mods? |

If this is for a trail truck, you might just wanna go with the Novak Goat system. It's prettty dang fast and you can gear that motor up pretty high to get extra speed out of it.

I ran my WK with a mamba 4600 system on 6 cells. Very peppy and wheelies at about any speed. 3300 mah lasted about 30 minutes with stock gearing, nothing got above ambient temps that I could tell. The 3 cell lipo was quite fun too The tranny couldn't take it though.

So should I get longer runtimes than stock?

Yes, the stock ESC and motor are not very efficient compared to a nice brushless setup.

so far I've been running a 7 cell 1900mAh battery on my WK (stock esc, integy 55T motor) and it runs fine, with about 30-45min run times. It's a stick pack and it hangs out the front at bit (stock chassis), so I was basically using the battery as a bumper (doh!) so I had to make a plate that extended beyond the battery. I plan on doing a custom 2/3A NiMH 6 or 7 cell pack to save some space/weight, though. When I got the 55T, I started using the 7 cells to gain back a little wheel speed over the stock 6 cell.

OK. I was just kinda wondering. How fast should a 55t motor go? Probably like under 4 MPH right?

Depends on your gearing. On low voltage and stock gearing 4mph would be about right.

So how could I make the transmission steel. And will only 6 cell packs and LiPo fit in the tray?

I ran Novak 4.5 in my WK for a while. It killed my rear R&P and the tranny slipper after about three packs.

So should the E-Firestorm Diffs and idlers work on the WK?
