Default upside down shocks?

Just as the title says, Why do people install there shocks inverted?

They also don't leak as often.

I do it because they leak less and because they bind less with the rod end on the chassis.
Certain shocks (like the Axial shocks) can't be run upside down though. Only shocks with a rubber bladder (cap) should be run upside down.
