| motor question??
im running two batts and one titan 550. Is this bad for the motor? Im thinking about getting a integy 75 turn lathe motor. The titan has torque but im looking for a slower speed. Any suggestions?

i was running 2 batts with one motor, 9 tooth pinion and 72 spur ran good for about a week and blew up, 75t is way to slow, go with a 55t and run 1 batt and you should be good |

no, the titans were designed to handle 14.4 volts, but not slow enough for crawlin!

It depends if you're running the batteries in series or parallel. If you're running them in series you add to voltage of both packs and that is the voltage that is delivered to the motor. If you run them in parallel the voltage stays the same as one battery but the mah capacity (runtime) will be double. You're probably using an evx esc though, so you'd be putting 14.4 volts to the motor. The Titan 550 was design for 14.4 volts though, so it is perfectly fine. I would suggest a 55t late also, you will get good torque and decent wheel speed off of one battery so you can lighten up your rig. |
