Im still new to this whole thing what is and does a bec do? also for the bec what power plugs should be installed and what output voltage do i need? and soon ill be using two servos if that makes a difference. the servos will be a jr9000 for steering and a tower pro mg 945 for the r2d dig. and the batteries are the 8 cell elites split pack. thanks for the help

The BEC gives power to your radio and servos. ESC's have a BEC built in, but they are very weak generally. 6 volt output is a very safe place to start, and for your power plug you just need whatever plug you already use. If you don't use any plugs yet I recommend deans.
